TIEDUSTELE SYKSYSTÄ!
( scroll down for English )

Course
SingAbility course is meant for singers who are looking to get a better understanding of how the voice works. The course is meant for singers with some experience, be it in a choir, band, singing lessons or maybe you’re a superstar in the shower!
Singing can offer us such joy and excitement but also frustration when we can't hit a note or feel tense in our bodies. This course is designed to give you a better understanding of voice technique, and what you can practise to feel more confident and free!
The SingAbility two-day weekend intensive combines theory with practice. We learn about the inner muscles at work while singing, learn to recognize and use them to vary sound and find freedom. You will get new exercises, and find out how to work on the issues you might have with your voice.
Depending on group size, each student will have at least 15 minutes of individual time with the teacher to work on the song of their choice. The individual time is taught in front of the group. Don’t be afraid! Learning to sing is a journey. The goal is to create a supporting atmosphere where everyone is embraced wherever they are in this journey. This type of group learning enhances the possibility to learn from each other as well as the teacher.
The course focuses on the pop-jazz repertoire. SingAbility is led by jazz vocalist, composer, lyricist, and vocal coach Susanna Aleksandra. Depending on the group, the course is held in Finnish or English.
We are gathering pre-signups to create a group for fall 2023.
The course will take place when four participants have enrolled.
